Regardless if you are a "Network Marketeer" or you own a "Home Business" WE all should follow a simpe code of "Business Ethics"
Excuse the length of this page but these are my views, and for you a glimpse of my thoughts. I will try to make this as entertaining as I can
I did not build Home Business Revelations to show you a bunch of SCAMS or get you all hyped up by telling you that you will"get rich overnight", every one of the Home Businesses I show you is EXACTLY what I am doing to generate income; you are direct proof of that. You are in control of your financial destiny,YOU & only YOU can make this work! For that fact alone I PROMISE to you that I will not deceive you, for my financial benefit
Recently, I was browsing through some forums and reading some articles about the popular "make money online" programs. I have heard the good and the bad things about these programs, but what I really do not like is when people refer to these products as scams. First of all I was reading about three popular "make money online" products called, Profit Lance, Adwords Miracle, and most shocking to me, Thank You Rich Jerk. All three are solid products where you will gain valuable information on how to make money online. I am not saying there are no scams, But there are also good products!
What most people do not realize is that a scam is when you pay for something and receive nothing in return or something fake, like if you purchased a diamond ring only to go get it appraised and find it to be a Cubic Zirconia. Then when you try to take the ring back to the store or online store they are nowhere to be found; now that sounds more like a scam. I purchased Profit Lance, received valuable information on how to make money online. The only difference between people who call these products scams and those who do not, is the people who actually use what they learn in the products and apply that knowledge on the internet.
I spent months trying to figure out how to make money online. I finally got fed up and decided to shell out the money and start buying some make money online products. Sure, some are better than the next, but that doesn't make them scams. To this day there is information I have learned in every make money online program I have purchased that I still use to create an income online. The people who yell scam when they don't make money immediately after buying the E book are simply not trying hard enough. Many people do not understand that working online is just like working a real job. The only difference is that when you are able to make money online you do not have a boss. You have to be the boss, and push yourself to make it happen. For months I worked a full time job and then came home at night and worked on my online ventures as much as possible. Yes, it was tiring at times, but I set some goals and made them happen.
Honestly, you cannot expect to buy a "make money online" product, open it up and have the secret code that will unlock a secret website that allows you to make $500 per day. If someone does find that secret by the way, please let me know. You have to read and apply what you learn. Another comparison I have with internet marketing is taking calculus in college. Internet marketing is much like learning the formulas in calculus. There was no way you can read the calculus book and pass the test the next day, you have to work at it and learn the steps to take to arrive at the right answer. That is just what these make money online systems are trying to help people do. Internet marketing is like a class. You have to learn the formula and then apply it on the internet. The answer is that you will make money! if you follow the directions.

ETHICS
EVERYONE WITH AN ONLINE PRESENCE wants to drive traffic to their site. Whether we use Search Engine Optimization (SEO), e-mail marketing, online public relations, advertising, social networking or buzz tactics; we all want Internet users to see our message and take action of some sort. Because we are all vying for the attention of available Internet traffic, there is a tremendous amount of competition online today. Unfortunately, competition can cause some people to resort to practices that cross acceptable lines of engagement. All might be fair in love and war; but all is not fair or acceptable in online marketing. Black hat SEO, Spamming, click fraud and deceptive advertising are some of the illicit methods used by some marketers to grab the attention of people online. In a way, it is not unlike an unruly child who acts up because he doesn't get the attention that he craves.

While rules of engagement already exist, with regard to legal requirements for e-mail (Can-SPAM) and online marketing (search engine rules); they don't necessarily prevent us from taking short-cuts that involve crossing the lines of acceptable behavior. There are speed limits on highways, but people still speed. There are anti-discrimination laws, but people still discriminate. The truth is that legislation doesn't necessarily change behavior. A code of ethics won't necessarily change behavior either, but it might cause people who straddle the line to consider their actions in terms of social responsibility and fair play; rather than complying to a set of complex rules and regulations that are often complicated to understand or misinterpreted .
To that end, here is the beginning of a Code of Ethics that online marketers should consider:
My Customer Determines Relevance: It is not my role, as an online marketer, to assume that my message is relevant to customers. Customers will determine its relevance. I will not push my marketing to customers online or in e-mail unless I have their permission to do so. If anyone asks not to be contacted anymore, I will immediately cease from doing so.
I Will Not Deceive: I will not deceive Internet users by misrepresenting my content, products or services intentionally in order to drive traffic to my site or to gather subscriptions to my e-mail list. I will honestly represent my offerings in search engines, e-mails, discussion boards, advertising, press releases and social networks.
I Will Be Objective: I will not engage in self-promotional tactics out of context when participating in online community discussions or posting blog comments. I will provide information about the products and services that I represent only when applicable and in hopes that it might add value to the discussion or when such information is requested by members of the community.
I Will Be Responsible: I will be responsible with my use of technology to reach customers. I will not misuse technology to manipulate search engines, adversely affect my competition, send Spam, or drive traffic in any other way to the websites that I represent. My actions will have the customers' needs in mind rather than my own desire to reach or influence them at any cost.

I Will Be Available: I will not hide behind anonymity in my communication online. I will include contact information, a reply-to address and any other information that recipients of my message need if they require additional information or should they have a question or complaint. An ethical code might inspire marketers to be more conscious of their duties and responsibilities as members of the online community, rather than simply complying with the letter of the law. Too often, we tend to rationalize non-adherence to law - doing 64mph in a 60mph zone for example.
